@ProfRagsdale’s weekly teach-in, #SaturdaySchool, has been a social media agent of change and awareness for more than two years. Since beginning #SaturdaySchool in 2011, @ProfRagsdale has used @Twitter as a medium to share ideas, expand awareness about important topics such as domestic violence and social justice education, and create a network of like-minded thinkers and activists. The consistently well-curated weekly discussions have gained the attention of a few notable individuals and #SaturdaySchool is quickly becoming a go-to resource for new ideas. Using social media as an extension of her @LoneStarCollege courses, @ProfRagsdale and #SaturdaySchool connect students with professionals and academics across industries and fields. Together with a dedicated group of #SaturdaySchool devotees, @ProfRagsdale bridges education, social media, and activism into one powerful medium for social progress.
