Presenters sought for panel on American Catholics and Immigration in 20th
Century at ACHC Meeting in Chicago, January 5-9, 2012.
Presenters are sought for a panel submission on American Catholics and
Immigration in the 20th century for the American Catholic Historical
Association’s meeting at the annual American Historical Association
conference, to be held in Chicago, January 5-9, 2012. In keeping with the
ACHA’s call for papers, scholarship that considers the transnational or the
local, Catholic progressivism, material culture, or the role of the laity in
relation to the institutional church is particularly welcome. Potential
topics can include: transnational Catholic migrant communities, Catholic
social action and the care of immigrants, church policy on immigration and
adaptation, immigration and labor, and more. The ACHA particularly
encourages graduate students to apply. Potential presenters should send a
250 word abstract of their presentation, including a title, and a one-page
CV to email@example.com by April 22, 2011.
