Last fall I spent about $600 applying to 5 different graduate schools, and that doesn’t even count the cost of the GRE (or the extra score reports). As a working person with plenty of student loans to pay, bills, and plenty of miscellaneous expenses, I could have used a little extra help paying for my grad school apps. Thanks to the Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities (HACU) other potential graduate school applicants may not have to spend as much out of pocket as I did.
From the HACU Website:
The HACU Alumni Association Shot at Graduate School Scholarship is open to HACU student program alumni who intend to pursue education beyond a bachelor’s degree and is designed to assist with the cost of applying to graduate school. The scholarship is in line with the HACU Alumni Association’s mission of supporting the alumni of HACU’s student programs, HACU’s mission to improve Hispanic students’ access to post-secondary educational opportunities, and HACU National Internship Program’s commitment to opening the doors of opportunity for Hispanic students.
The HACU Alumni Association Shot at Grad School Scholarship provides recipients with a $200 scholarship!
The application deadline is March 30, 2011. So, if you’re planning on applying to graduate school in the fall, now is the time to get started. Visit the HACU website for more details about the Shot At Graduate School Scholarship.
